Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that are not synthesized in the human body, so they must be supplied to the body with the daily diet or, if necessary, in the form of supplements. The OstroVit preparation uses both alpha linolenic acid (ALA), which can be found primarily in linseed oil, as well as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are compounds derived mainly from oily marine fish.
Omega 6 fatty acids are compounds belonging to the group of essential fatty acids that are part of cell membranes. The OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 supplement uses linoleic acid (LA), derived from sunflower oil and flax seeds, which can also be found in other vegetable oils, e.g. grape seed oil.
Omega 9 fatty acids are unsaturated fats, the representative of which (used in the OstroVit product) is oleic acid (OA). The main dietary source of the compound is olive oil, although oleic acid is also found in rapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, sunflower seed oil and linseed oil.
Vitamin E is a group of organic chemical compounds classified as fat-soluble vitamins, of which the greatest biological activity is demonstrated by, used in the preparation, D-alpha-tocopherol. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA) used in the product help to maintain optimal cholesterol levels in the blood, and the beneficial effect occurs when consuming 2 g of ALA and 10 g of LA per day.
